It will also ensure that trains of railway undertakings can move freely, without problems and from one country to another.<\/p>\n<p>This system replaces a large number of different, mutually incompatible and often obsolete systems which exist in the different countries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The system consists of 2 major parts - trackside equipment and on-board equipment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The mobile or on-board part is mounted on vehicles.<\/li>\n<li>The trackside or infrastructure part is installed along the lines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To allow communication between the trackside and the mobile part, in some variants of the ETCS system we also use the GSM-R wireless network.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-7605-0-0-1\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_ducr-separator\" data-index=\"1\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-ducr-separator so-widget-ducr-separator-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><hr class=\"gov-content-block__separator\" ><\/div><\/div><div id=\"panel-7605-0-0-2\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_ducr-titleandtext\" data-index=\"2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-ducr-titleandtext so-widget-ducr-titleandtext-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t><h2 id=\"sowtit-the-exclusive-operation-of-the-etcs-from-january-2025\">The exclusive operation of the ETCS from January 2025<\/h2><div class=\"ducr__text\"><p>The planned introduction of the exclusive operation of trains under the control of the single European Train Control System was phased in over a four-week period in January 2025. In total, the system is used on 622 kilometres of the most important lines in the Czech Republic.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>from 1 January 2025: \u010cesk\u00e1 T\u0159ebov\u00e1 \u2013 Olomouc \u2013 Dluhonice \u2013 Prosenice\/P\u0159erov.<\/li>\n<li>from 8 January 2025: B\u0159eclav \u2013 Bohum\u00edn<\/li>\n<li>from 15 January 2025: \u010cesk\u00e1 T\u0159ebov\u00e1 \u2013 Adamov and Mod\u0159ice \u2013 B\u0159eclav<\/li>\n<li>from 22 January 2025: Praha-B\u011bchovice \u2013 Pardubice \u2013 \u010cesk\u00e1 T\u0159ebov\u00e1<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Every month about 50,000 trains are running under the control of the ETCS.
